As part of our inquiry on ‘Our Places’ we were lucky to visit the cinema to watch Moana. This is a story about a pasifika girl Moana who goes on an important adventure to rescue her island. We had so much fun and we couldn’t stop singing all the songs!
Studio 1 has been learning about the letter T. We decided to have a teddy bears picnic to celebrate our letter T week. It was so much fun to see our families and everyone having fun
Today we met our teachers for 2017. Mrs Kumar and Mrs Kaur will be our teachers. Look at our ‘All about me ‘ activity. First, we traced around our whole body then we chose some colourful colours to paint our portraits. We cannot wait to see the finished work tomorrow.
2016 studio events
Then we played a game – shark attack. Martin and Flo were sharks who tried to take the balls away from us. Then Kritika, Rawiri and Junaid were sharks. Rawiri got Violet’s ball and Kritika got Alex and Danielle’s balls. Junaid got Cooper’s one. Then Alex, Lytrel and Eraysha had a turn at being sharks. Last of all Kamryn, Maria and Nicholas had a turn.
We had a lot of fun doing soccer skills with Martin and Flo today.
Today, Studio One had our amazing Studio 7 role models. They read with us and helped us read with expression! We really enjoyed reading with our puppets. Thanks Studio 7, we look forward to our next buddy reading session. Thanks Mrs T.
Butterfly creek trip
We have been learning about creatures this term! Studio 1 had a wonderful trip to Butterfly Creek! They had an amazing day strolling amongst the dinosaurs! Thank you to Mrs Kumar, Mrs Swami, Mrs Hansen and Mr Hawkins for taking the whole studio out for a fantastic day!!! And of course a huge thank you to all the parent helpers that came and supported them! These kinds of trips are not possible without great parent help!
Speech Time in studio 1
Here we are presenting our speeches in front of our awesome Studio one audience. Our topic was ‘ I wish I was …’ . Some of us chose to talk about our favourite animal and some chose favourite insects. We are looking forward to our Speech Final on Friday!
As part of our Reading cycle, Studio One has been learning to read to themselves.
First we sit in a circle with our group book boxes. Then we choose at least 2 books and read to ourselves. We use the letter sounds to help us sounds our words. We also look at the pictures in our books to help us talk about our story.

Studio One got into the Olympic Spirit today when we held our own Olympic Games. We took part in Discus, Shot Put, Hurdles and Hula Hoop Gymnastics.
Students in Studio 1 are learning about “Its ok to be different”. They are loving to meet ‘ Harold’ the puppet Giraffe in the bus. Students are enjoying their learning in this “mobile classroom’.
